I wanted to do something different with my images. Years ago, I created some calendars that had an image for each month. Back then it wasn’t easy to create a photo calendar that was cost-effective. Now that Blurb.com provides the ability to do a weekly planner, I thought it was time to revisit the calendar idea. However, when I looked at Blurb’s weekly planner offerings, there wasn’t an option for having a different image each week. Since that feature was critical for what I had in mind for a weekly planner, I developed my own.

I’ve started selecting random images from my collection just to see what I can do with them to make them more interesting. They may be images I simply passed over previously. In this image I simply corrected the perspective and created a frame for it. All adjustments were done in Adobe Lightroom except for a final step to make the frame for the image completely symmetrical, which was done in Photoshop. Below is the original image which was captured in Silverton, Colorado.

This rural ranch, in the town of Gothic just north of Crested Butte, Colorado, was a perfect infrared subject. The sky was very cooperative as well.

I believe this is called Richardson’s Geranium. I think that only because that’s what I found in doing a Google search for Colorado wildflowers, but I’m never sure. This was one of the many varieties I found on my recent trip to Crested Butte, Colorado.

I found this Columbine wildflower on the hike from Irwin Lake near Crested Butte, Colorado. We didn’t get rained on, but the flower still had droplets from an earlier rain or the early morning condensation.

These sunflowers seem to be standing watch over this meadow and the ranch below. Just outside of Crested Butte, wildflowers were in full bloom along the side of the road. It’s a location I’ve been to in previous years, and it never seems to disappoint.

Gothic is a small town just north of Mt. Crested Butte in Colorado. There isn’t much there other than this old town hall and a couple other buildings. This infrared shot adds to the character of the place.
